It's time to dive into the world of learning resources that can make your homeschool journey both exciting and effective. Whether you're a seasoned homeschooler or just getting started, I’m excited to share these tools that might be just what you need to enhance your family's learning experience.

  1.  Education.com

Education.com is a powerhouse when it comes to finding a wide variety of K-8 learning materials. Whether you need worksheets, online games, or lesson plans, this platform has it all.

I’ve found it especially useful when my kids need extra practice in specific subjects. For example, when my daughter was working on two-digit addition and subtraction, I quickly found games and worksheets that matched her needs perfectly.

The platform is also great for self-led learning, giving my kids the opportunity to explore subjects independently when I’m busy with work

With a fee of $16/month, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment for any homeschooling family.

  1.  Outschool.com

Outschool.com offers online classes for kids aged 3-18, covering everything from core subjects to special interests.

My family has had great success with this platform! My youngest daughter became an excellent reader through their reading classes, and my older daughter mastered her multiplication tables with the help of a fun PopIt toy multiplication class.

Outschool’s classes are reasonably priced, with either week-to-week classes or a bundled course. You’re welcome to use my ➡️referral link that will get you $20 off your child's first class!

  1. Black History Resources

Teaching Black history from our perspective is a priority for many families of color who choose to homeschool, and these two resources are brands founded by Black homeschool moms:

Both are fantastic tools for families looking to incorporate Black history into their curriculum.

  1. Heritage Mom

Amber O’Neal Johnston, known as Heritage Mom, has created incredible reading lists and lesson guides called Heritage Packs that blend history and language arts and cover everything from African folklore to the Civil Rights Movement, offering a rich literary experience for your kids. You can learn more about her in episode #61 of the podcast.

Starting at $14.95 for the digital downloads, Heritage Packs are easy to follow, and you can purchase the books or take a trip to find them at your local library!

  1. Spanish Lessons

Last but not least, I want to give a special shoutout to Senora Ana, my kids' Spanish teacher! Her private virtual lessons have been a game-changer for my girls, and her patience and kindness make her such a wonderful instructor.

Final Thoughts

These are just a few of the resources that I’ve come to love in our homeschooling journey. Of course, we still use traditional textbooks, co-op group classes, and even free resources like YouTube, but the paid resources I’ve shared here are truly worth considering.
